FAQS: Workshop Vacs

General

  • How often should my workshop vac's cleaner bag be changed?

It's best to check the bag yourself and change it when it's no more than three quarters full.
If your vac is used on tough clean up jobs, you may have to change the bag more often.
To be on the safe side, check the dirt level in the bag before each use.

  • How often should I change the filter on a workshop vac?

You don't have to change the filter as often as the bag. If the filter shows signs of wear,
or is excessively dirty or torn, it's time to replace it.

Please refer to your instruction manual for filter replacement regarding your model.

  • What should I do if the workshop vac isn't picking up dirt?

First, give it a full inspection. To do so, turn the machine off and unplug it.
Look for a full bag or any blockage that might be affecting the power of the machine.
If everything checks out and your machine still isn't working properly, return it
if it is under warranty or get it checked out by your nearest Authorised Service Centre.

  • Do more 'amps' mean better cleaning?

If you're tempted to buy a model with the highest amps, horsepower or watts,
you might want to think again. These numbers are simply measurements of
the electrical current used by the motor. A shop vac's performance depends
on airflow, the amount of suction it produces, and other factors including
    the overall design and attachments.

  • I have lost my manual. Where can I get another one?

An archive of discontinued model instruction manuals will be available shortly.
Otherwise, all current models have an instruction manual available to download
as a Acrobat PDF on their web page.
